There are two boat launching ramp facilities in Annapolis. On Spa Creek is the Truxtun Park boat ramp facility, and on Weems Creek is the Tucker Street boat ramp facility. Daily permits are available at the Truxtun Park launch, while annual permits are available for both facilities and may be purchased from the Annapolis Harbormaster's Office or the Annapolis Department of Parks and Recreation. The permits are valid from May 1st through April 30th.
The Truxtun Park boat ramp features two concrete launching ramps with adjacent finger piers. The facility is open from sunrise to sunset. The daily launch-ramp fee of $8 purchases a round trip, and a parking permit to keep a vehicle and trailer in the parking lot at the top of the hill. Stored vehicles must display a launch-ramp receipt placed face up on the driver's-side dashboard. The fee is payable at the kiosk adjacent to the ramp via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club, and JCB.
Cash and check payments are accepted in one of two ways. One, Harbormaster agents may be on duty and stationed at the boat ramp on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Two, if no agent is available at the ramp, there are courtesy envelopes and an Honor Dropbox located at the Truxtun Park Field Office. For recreational users, annual permits may be purchased for $75.
Tucker Street Boat Ramp
The Tucker Street boat ramp features a single, stabilized, gravel ramp with no finger piers. The ramp is open during the daylight hours, however the facility is available to Annapolis Residents only. Please note that this ramp is not capable of large boat use. There are no restrooms available. Parking for vehicles/boat trailers is extremely limited. Annual trailer-parking permits may be purchased for $25.
Please note there is an ADA parking spot adjacent to the boat ramps. There is also an ADA walkway to an ADA floating "L" dock that can be used to board boats and launch canoes and kayaks. An ADA walkway goes from the ramps to the parking areas.
